Reading candlestick charts
Each candle tells you the open, high, low and close for a period. Here is how to read them.
A candlestick summarises price action over one period — an hour, a day or a week.
- The body spans the open and close. A green (rising) body closed higher than it opened; a red (falling) body closed lower.
- The wicks show the highest and lowest prices traded in the period.
Long wicks show rejection of a price level; small bodies show indecision. Patterns are probabilistic hints, not predictions — always combine them with risk management.
The trading terminal lets you switch between hourly and daily candles for every instrument.
